CHIMNEY REBUILDS

Enhance your home/s aesthetic and value

When weakening of the chimney structure comes to the point of no return, the arrangement could be a tear-down and rebuild. During a rebuild, our masons will demolish any brick that is deteriorated, and use new brick to build it back up. A fractional rebuild can be done in cases where a portion of the structure is salvageable. A recently built concrete crown wraps up the project.

OVERHANG CONCRETE CROWN

10 year warranty

The concrete chimney crown covers the entire chimney top (excluding the flue) and should extend outward by at least 2 inches to shield the chimney chase from water damage caused by rain or snow. As the first part of the chimney likely to show signs of wear, the crown serves as an indicator of overall chimney health. Any cracks should be repaired promptly to prevent damage to the chimney’s interior. Depending on the extent of damage, our masons can either repair or completely rebuild the crown.

The crown is one of the most crucial components of your chimney system. It should be inspected at least once a year for any cracks, chips, or holes, as even minor damage can lead to issues like water intrusion or trapped smoke.

CHIMNEY RELINING

Stainless Steel Liners- LIfetime Warranty

Over time, chimneys that are neglected or not regularly maintained can quickly deteriorate, creating potential hazards within your home. Cracked tiles or crumbling masonry can allow dangerous gases, smoke, or even sparks to enter your living space. When faced with significant chimney damage, some homeowners may opt for a complete replacement, which can be both time-consuming and costly. For most, however, a quicker and more budget-friendly solution is to have General Chimney Services experts reline the chimney with a stainless steel or aluminum insert.

Our technicians restore chimneys by installing a durable, insulated stainless steel liner between the flue and the chimney walls. This steel liner is highly resistant to common chimney damage and comes with a lifetime warranty.

In addition to enhancing the safety of your fireplace, our relining service can also boost your home's resale value. Prospective buyers appreciate the added reassurance of a durable, long-lasting chimney liner.

TUCKPOINTING

Rebuild joint integrity

The vertical and horizontal cracks between the bricks are known as the joints. As the mortar wears away the joints will grow. Loosened bricks can fall out and cause your chimney to crumble.

Tuckpointing refills the cracked joints to keep the bricks in place.

Besides time, a major cause of wear includes the harsh winter conditions, particularly moisture. Your chimney doesn’t get to go indoors like we do, it’s outside all the time. This constant exposure means even the best maintained chimney will need masonry work eventually.

FIREBOX REPAIR

The heart of your home

The interior space of your fireplace where combustion takes place is called the firebox. It is constructed of a unique type of brick and mortar that is built to withstand the high temperatures associated with wood burning.
Nevertheless, the elements of the firebox weaken with age, and deterioration shows itself in the form of cracks in the mortar and in the bricks themselves. Our masons are experienced in both full and partial rebuilds of the firebox.
